Every Friday night at 9:30pm: The Meat Raffle. Don't let Pete and his little helpers have all the meat again - buy some tickets and hopefully take home a joint or two (we're still talking meat here). Tickets from Pete, who will harass you until you buy one, so get in early, buy a ticket and be left in peace all night. ALL proceeds go towards the senior citizens Christmas party and other senior citizens events. Meat supplied by Longhursts. (Do I get a freebie for the plug ? - Ed)
Every Sunday at 3:00pm: The Golden Key. Your chance to win a pile of used and untraceable notes, in mixed denominations, usually somewhere between £150 and £800. Get in early to buy your tickets (£1 each) from Lilly on the door. (Sponsored by Mr. R. Biggs).
First Saturday of the Month: Liaisons Disco. The best Social Group around get together and boogie on down. On your own and feel the need to socialise more ? Then come along and meet the gang. They organise all sorts of events including parties, days out to weekends away. I know 'cos I was there for the Houses of Parliament tour, the London Eye, and John's 'Grand Day out at Eton' [college]. I think. It was a long day. A very long day. The evening is of course not exclusive - Club members are obviously welcome to get up and shake their wobbly bits on the dance floor. (Speak for yourself - Ed).
Third Saturday of the Month: Quiz Night. Animal, mineral or vegetable ? We don't care, we take anybody as long as you can pay the 50p entry fee. Teams of up to six people, and it starts at: a) 04:00am. b) 8:30pm. c) The Compleat Angler. (There's a clue in there somewhere).
